The Toronto Blue Jays have made it clear that free agent pitcher Max Fried is one of their top targets in free agency but it looks like they might miss out on him as the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are now front runners to land him.
The Yankees and Red Sox are now front runners to land free agent Max Fried
The Blue Jays have been the most closely linked team to Fried this off-season but as they continue to focus on Soto and await his decision it seems like other teams have jumped ahead of them to land the left handed pitcher.

According to insider Bob Nightengale, the tides have turned with the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox now the front runners to land Fried this off-season as the Blue Jays have fallen to third.
Max Fried is expected to sign with either the Red Sox or Yankees according to
@BNightengale
While Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins recently stated in an interview that he has learned a ton front last year's Shohei Ohtani situation but it does not seem so since everything is going the exact same way.
Last off-season, Atkins spend all of his time focusing on on Ohtani and when he decided to sign in Los Angeles, the Blue Jays missed out on all the other top free agents which seem to be what is happening this year once again.
If the Blue Jays end up without a solid hitter or starting pitcher this off-season , fans will simply stop showing up to games as it is clear that 2025 will be a repeat of 2024 with a lineup full on holes.
The Blue Jays need to find a way to land either Corbin Burnes or
Fried if they want to have a solid starting rotation next season.
