Toronto Blue Jays veteran pitcher Chris Bassitt receives incredible honor

An announcement was just made by the Major League Baseball Player's Association that Toronto Blue Jays veteran Chris Bassitt has been named to Executive Subcommittee.
While the Blue Jays veteran pitcher's future is still shaky in Toronto as he heads into the final year of his contract he is still high regarded around the league as a leader, the same goes within the Blue Jays locker room.

The MLBPA announced that Bassitt along with 8 other MLB player's have been named to the executive committee but it is Marcus Siemen and Bassitt that will serve as association reps while the others are alternates.
Veteran Toronto Blue Jays starter Chris Bassitt has been elected to the MLBPA Executive Subcommittee, the MLBPA announced on Wednesday. Well-regarded around the game, the 35-year-old right-hander joins the eight-member committee as an Association Player Representative. -Fisher
The MLBPA today announced that representatives from each of the 30 Clubs elected new Major League Players to the union's eight-member Executive Subcommittee. Minor League leadership also elected one Association Player Representative and two Alternate Association Player Representatives. The elections took place during the Association's annual Executive Board meeting.

The Executive Committee's role is to represent the players interests in negotiations regarding the future of the game in all decisions that involved the Player's Association.
"The Executive Subcommittee members play a crucial role in representing the interests of all Players in the upcoming collective bargaining negotiations, union governance, and in shaping the future of the MLBPA," according to the MLBPA's press release. -Fisher
Bassitt is already a leader in the Blue Jays clubhouse and will now take on a role as a leader in the MLB which goes on to prove his character as a person instead of just a baseball player.
