Toronto Blue Jays prospect Ricky Tiedemann announced some unfortunate news regarding his recovery as he confirmed his return will not be any time soon.

The Blue Jays have quite a few top pitchers that are currently battling back from injury as both Alek Manoah and Tiedemann are recovering from Tommy John surgery while Adam Macko just underwent surgery on his knee.

Tiedemann went down half way through last season due to an elbow injury which ended up needing Tommy John surgery to fix and it looks like the recovery process is taking longer than expected.
During an interview with Keegan Matheson, Tiedemann stated that he does not plan on returning before the end of the season which would be a best case scenario meaning there is a chance he misses all of 2025.
Ran into Ricky Tiedemann this morning, who is doing well with his Tommy John rehab. He sounded really encouraged and relieved with how his elbow and arm are feeling compared to pre-surgery.

He's targeting games by the end of the 2025 season. #BlueJays

This is unfortunate news for both Tiedemann and the Blue Jays as he was the Blue Jays top prospect last season and was surely going to have a solid chance at seeing some time in the majors this season if he was healthy.
Unfortunately the Blue Jays will now have to hope that his recovery goes well that he does return before the end of the season and that when he returns he is still the same pitcher he once was.
