During a recent interview, Red Sox legend David Ortiz who is also very close with Guerrero stated that the contract he was looking for was around $585 million over 13 years which Ortiz believes he deserves.

If the Blue Jays were to agree on this type of deal they would have been paying Guerrero $45 million per season for the next 13 years which is a ton of money.
While this is a massive contract, the crazy part is that he will likely land something similar next off-season when he is a free agent.
