Former Blue Jays outfielder Tim Locastro signs with the San Diego Padres

The Padres announced yesterday that they have agreed to terms on a minor league deal with Tim Locastro which will be bringing him back to the Padres which is the team he was with last season.
Your daily Padres recap:

Padres re-sign OF Tim Locastro to a minor league deal, AJ Cassavell reports Xander Bogaerts calling 18-year-old prospect Leodalis De Vries 'the real deal' from camp, and Jeff Sanders notes Yu Darvish throwing live BP today.
Padres re-signed Tim Locastro which gives me an excuse to post perhaps the best piece of team-generated media ever
Locastro was part of the Padres organization last season as he signed aminor league deal with them last season but did not end up getting called up as he spent the entire 2024 season in Triple-A.
The Blue Jays and Locastro relationship was quite short as they drafted him back in 2013 as a shortstop but he was then traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers organization as part of a big minor league trade in 2015.
Locastro last played in the MLB in 2023 for the Mets in which he played 43 games finishing with 2 homeruns and 3 RBIs to go along with a .232 batting average that season.
It looks like the chances of Locastro seeing time in the majors this year at 32 years old are very slim but it will all come down to how many injuries the Padres end up having.
