The New York Mets announced yesterday that they signed Juan Soto to the largest contract in sports history but as the details of the deal are released, fans have been quite surprised.

The Mets announced late last night that they have sign superstar Juan Soto to a 15 year deal worth $765 million which makes this the largest contract in MLB history.
According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the 15 year deal is worth $765 million but includes a $75 million signing bonus which makes his pay in his first season around $120 million while none of the contract is deferred by the Mets.

In addition to that, there is an opt out in the fifth year of the contract which would put Soto at 30 years old while his family will also get their own personal sweet at Citi Field which is around $500k per season.
