Former Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen sign with the Rays
MLB insider Jeff Passan just broke the news that former Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen has signed a one year deal worth $8.5 million with the Tampa Bay Rays for the 2025 seeason.

According to additional reports, Jansen had a few offer with longer terms but decided to do like his former teammate Teoscar Hernandez and bet on himself for the 2025 season in hopes of landing a larger contract next season.

Jansen had multi-year offers, but chose to bet on himself coming off a down season, and goes to a place where he will get consistent playing time.
Fans were hoping to see Jansen back in Toronto as the Blue Jays are extremely short on catchers in their organization but it looks like the front office is happy with their current duo despite the fans base disagreeing.
