The Toronto Blue Jays disastrous 2024 season seems to have not been all for nothing as they have a serious chance at the first overall pick in the 2025 MLB draft.
The Blue Jays had one of their worst seasons in the past 20 years in 2024 especially when taking into account the high hopes that the team and fans had for this roster going into the year.

Due to how poorly the Blue Jays 2024 season went, they now have a 7.5% chance of getting the first overall pick at the 2025 MLB draft which would be the first time in franchise history.
If they do not end up getting thee first overall pick, they still have a 60.6% chance of picking in the top 6 which would be their first time since 2020 when they took Austin Martin 5th overall.

The draft lottery is set to take next week on Tuesday December 10th at 5:30 PM ET but fans will have to wait until July 13th 2025 for the 2025 MLB draft which will take place in Atlanta along with the All-Star game festivities.
As of right now, the projected first overall pick is Ethan Holliday, son of Matt Holliday and brother of former first overall pick Jackson Holliday who is a infielder (3B/SS) who has committed to Oklahoma State University.
If the Blue Jays are somehow able to land the first overall pick and make some major signings this winter, the team could actually have an incredible future ahead, loaded with talent.
While the Blue Jays farm system is not seen as the strongest, they still have some solid young players such as Arjun Nimmala, Spencer Horwitz and Will Wagner which is why adding a player of Holliday's caliber would only make them even more dominant.
