The Toronto Blue Jays young pitcher Jake Bloss has a lot of pressure heading into the 2025 season as Toronto has some big plans for his future.

The Blue Jays acquired Bloss as part of the trade package that sent beloved pitcher Yusei Kikuchi to the Houston Astros at last year's trade deadline.
The Blue Jays, who sat at 51-57 on the day of the trade deadline, ended up selling off all their rental players, one of whom was Yusei Kikuchi, who was traded to the Astros. The return for Kikuchi included Jake Bloss, an under-the-radar arm who could prove to be an impact pitcher both now and in the future. -Cherniak

The Blue Jays have big plans for young pitcher Jake Bloss in the future

The Blue Jays saw Bloss as a massive part of the deal that sent Kikuchi away and they believe that if he can continue to improve, he can be a big part of their starting rotation in the future.
While the Blue Jays starting rotation seems set for the 2025 season, they have some aging pitchers such as Max Scherzer, Kevin Gausman and Chris Bassitt who Bloss could end up replacing down the line.
While the Blue Jays' starting rotation is headlined by established stars like Kevin Gausman and José Berros, depth is always a concern over the course of a 162-game season. Injuries, slumps, and unforeseen circumstances can quickly deplete even the most robust pitching staffs. That's where Bloss comes in. -Cherniak

Bloss is definitely seen as a big part of the Blue Jays future but there is a strong possibility that he sees some serious time in the majors this year with Alek Manoah still out and the possibility of Bassitt being traded.
Not only are the Blue Jays hoping for Bloss to contribute this year, they're also hoping he can develop into a key part of their pitching staff for years to come. Cherniak

Last season the Blue Jays did not bring up Bloss but he did pitch incredibly well in Triple-A for the Bisons and did see some time in the majors with the Astros as he pitched 11.2 innings, finishing with a 6.94 ERA.
It will be interesting to see how things play out for him since season with the Blue Jays.
