The MLB announced this morning that Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chad Green has been named as a finalist for comeback player of the year.
Green had incredible bounce back season in 2024 after missing the majority of 2022 and 2023 as he recovered from Tommy John surgery. Green came back in a major way this season on a terrible Blue Jays bullpen, arguably one of the worst in the league as he stood out as one of the few bright spots especially in the second half of the season.
Green, who missed most of the 2022 and '23 seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery, was a high-leverage option for the Blue Jays this past season and filled in at closer over the second half of the campaign. -Canadian Press
