The Toronto Blue Jays have been linked to free agent pitcher Max Scherzer for the past week or so and they have finally made him an offer according to reports.

The Blue Jays made free agent Pete Alonso an offer earlier today for three years $75 million which they are hoping will get done and will help land Scherzer who is looking to play for a winner.

The Blue Jays are still looking to make some big moves despite it being late in the off-season and apparently their two main targets are Max Scherzer and Pete Alonso.
Blue Jays Interested In Max Scherzer
According to reports, the Blue Jays have now made an offer to Scherzer as well which would be a one year deal worth $16 million but the details regarding opt out and options have yet to be announced.
Scherzer 1 year $16M
Alonso 3 years $75M

It's more complicated than that opt out, options, incentives, bonuses etc. but I get the sense it's all wrapped up, could be announced today even.
Adding Scherzer to the Blue Jays pitching rotation would be incredible as he has been one of the best and most consistent pitchers in the MLB over the last decade.
While Scherzer is not the pitcher he once was, he is still a dominant force on the mound and has a ton of experience which will be great to have in the Blue Jays young clubhouse.
The Blue Jays off-season started in an awful way but if Ross Atkins is able to pull off these moves, this will be out of their best winters in a very long time.
Fans have their fingers crossed and their hopes held high that a deal will get done.
