Roden has been having an incredible camp so far where he has been impressing management with his hitting and pushing them to look at keeping him in the majors this season.

In a recent interview, Roden spoke to about how his first dream was to become an astrophysicist that studied black holes in the galaxy but has since put that dream on hold to pursue a career in the MLB.
He loved baseball, he just didn't see it as a career. Physics, on the other hand, had been his focus ever since he enrolled at Creighton. He didn't play much baseball at first, instead dedicating himself to his classes and his research in astrophysics. His topic of choice? -Nicholson-Smith
Here's how Roden puts it: «Specifically, I studied quasars, which are the super mass of black holes at the centres of galaxies.» -Roden
During the interview, Roden stated that he fell in love with astrophysics while attending Creighton University and saw it as a more realistic option than become a professional baseball player.
«I had zero anticipation or intention of playing professional baseball,» he recalled in a recent interview with Sportsnet. -Roden
Roden has now gone from not thinking it was not possible for him to actually make the MLB to now having a real chance at making the Blue Jays Opening Day lineup.
It will be interesting to see if he ends up making the team this year but he is surely proving in camp that he belongs in the majors.
