Toronto Blue Jays Alek Manoah finally opens up about his personal struggles over the last few years
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah had an unbelievable first two seasons in the MLB but has struggled immensely ever since which he finally opened up about.
Manoah finished the 2022 season with incredible numbers as many thought he should win the American League Cy Young award after finishing the season with a 2.24 ERA in 196.2 innings pitched.

Manoah had a disaster of a 2023 season finishing with a 5.87 ERA followed by another tough 2024 season after having a season ending injury which resulted in
Tommy John Surgery.
During a a recent interview on the Foul Territory podcast, Manoah admitted he has had a tough time over the last couple years but that he has just been focusing on trying to improve despite it not necessarily going the way he thought it would.

Manoah is still recovering from his surgery which will apparently keep him out until at least the last two months of the season if he continues to recover at a rapid pace but there is a chance he misses the entire 2025 season.
The Blue Jays have been working along side Manoah and have stated that he has been making some great progressions and is looking to start pitching from the bullpen in the next couple weeks.

Manoah tells me he's tentatively set to throw a bullpen in a couple weeks' time - his first since the procedure.
Hopefully this surgery will help Manoah return to the pitcher he was back in 2022 as it would be a massive difference maker for the Blue Jays.
