The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have closed a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays which will see left handed pitcher Brandon Eisert headed to Tampa.
The Blue Jays designated Eisert for assignment a few days ago as they have a full 40 man roster and need to make room if they plan on closing a few deals in the coming days.

The Blue Jays likely decided to DFA
Eisert because they are serious about getting a deal done with Alonso and Scherzer which they need to make room for on their roster if they close the deal.
The Blue Jays drafted Eisert in the 18th round of the 2019 MLB draft and he made his first appearance in the majors this season in which he pitched 6.2 innings for Toronto, finishing with a 4.05 ERA and 2 strike outs.
Since Eisert has so little experience in the MLB and is still young, this was a good move by the Rays as he could still have a promising future in the MLB.
Fans are hoping that this trade means that they are closing in on a big signing which most hope will be Alonso.
