The Toronto Blue Jays are still unsure of who they will have as their DH for the 2025 season but it looks like Anthony Santander is their top option.

Santander has been making heading over the last 24 hours but not because of his solid game against the Tigers but because of a post he made on Instagram regarding Elon Musk.

The Blue Jays seem to be leaning towards Anthony Santander as their DH this season

The Blue Jays signed Santander to their biggest deal of the off-season as they agreed to a five year deal worth $92.5 million which will pay him an average salary of $18.5 million per season.
When the Blue Jays signed Santander to a five-year, $92.5M this offseason, no one thought that was a move that would improve their defense! -Wallace

The Blue Jays signed Santander to bring in offense since he is far from a great defender and while most thought he would be playing with George Springer and Daulton Varsho in the outfield, it looks like he will likely spend the majority of the season as DH.
Santander is a capable outfielder in the corners, but it's hardly his calling card. He's a throwback to big-bodied mashers of yore, who managers would always try to find a spot for. The 30-year-old's commanding presence in the lineup, likely hitting cleanup behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the main reason he was brought into the fold, and he's projected to see the most time at DH this season. -Wallace

This is a great opportunity for some of the Blue Jays younger players such as Joey Loperfido and Davis Schneider who now have a chance at seeing some real playing time this season.
While Santander seems like the clear choice as DH for the Blue Jays, prospect Alan Roden has been making a serious name for himself at camp this year and might end up taking that spot from Santander even though it is unlikely.
It will be interesting to see on Opening Day how the Blue Jays decide to build their lineup and how it will do against the Baltimore Orioles.
