Alek Manoah is one of many players on the Toronto Blue Jays who is starting the season on the Injured List. He is currently dealing with some shoulder inflammation, and fans are curious as to whether or not he will be back in time for the team's first homestand.

Manoah is a player who went through some struggles back in 2023. As Manager John Schneider previously admitted, the team struggled with its pitching last season, and Manoah was one of those pitchers experiencing a down year. He had a record of 3-9 and finished with an ERA of 5.87. This is a stark contrast to his 2022 season where he finished 16-7 and had an ERA of 2.24.
At the age of 26, Manoah is looking to have a major comeback this season, but he will have to get through this injury spell. Thankfully, it seems as though he is progressing quite nicely. According to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet, Manoah will be pitching a side this weekend. This is a critical step to getting back into the lineup, and it will serve as a hopeful update for Jays fans.
"Alek Manoah (shoulder inflammation) will throw his next side with the Blue Jays on Sunday. Nothing new on Joey Votto, still working toward the resumption of baseball activities."
Considering the fact that the season just started, the Blue Jays seem to be in no rush to get their injured players back into the lineup. They were able to win their season opener by a score of 8-2. This was propelled by solid pitching as well as some tremendous work from their heavy hitters.
The Blue Jays are currently in the midst of their second game of the season. They are down 4-1 to the Tampa Bay Rays, at the time of writing this. If you want to check in on the match, you can watch it live over on Sportsnet.
