Danny Jansen has been a stud for the Toronto Blue Jays over the last few years. Unfortunately, he has been dealing with consistent injuries as of late, and it has left Blue Jays fans hoping for some positive news.
At the end of last season, Jansen ended up fracturing his right middle finger. This happened in September and it forced him to miss the rest of the season. Unfortunately, the injury problems persisted as he recently suffered a fracture in his wrist. This subsequently led to him being placed on the 10-day Injured List on Thursday. Now, Jansen is getting a positive update. As per Shi Davidi of Sportsnet, Jansen is swinging a bat again. Additionally, he recently caught a side, all while practicing his long-tossing.
There is still a long road ahead for Jansen. In order to get back into the lineup, he will have to participate in batting practice. Furthermore, he is going to have to face pitches at game-pace velocity. Once he has met these guidelines, he will be able to get back into the rotation.
While Jansen recovers, the Blue Jays look to build upon their strong start to the season. At the time of writing this, the team is currently playing against the Tampa Bay Rays in their second match of the season. If you want to catch up on the action, Sportsnet is airing the game in Canada. Meanwhile, keep it locked to Blue Jays Insider for more news and updates surrounding your favorite team.
