Blue Jays announce injury update regarding outfielders Joey Loperfido and Jonatan Clase
Toronto is set to take on the Atlanta Braves this afternoon at 1:05 PM and have announced the lineup for the game as Jacob Barnes will be the starting pitcher with Jonatan Clase making his first start of the Grapefruit League season.
Jonatan Clase makes his Spring debut today!
The team announced that Clase who has been dealing with a hamstring injury will be making his first start of the Spring Training season today and Loperfido will also be back in the lineup after playing last night proving that he is doing a lot better.
Jonatan Clase (hamstring) back in the lineup for Blue Jays today. Joey Loperfido (neck) in there for a day game after a night game.
This is great news for the Blue Jays who have been dealing with quite a few minor injuries in Spring Training and now have at least two players less to worry about before the start of the season.
Having both Loperfido and Clase back also gives them more options in terms of outfielders if it turns out that Daulton Varsho is not ready for the start of the season despite his rapid progress.
It will be interesting to see who ends up on the team for Opening Day as the lineup still has a few question marks in it as many players are still battling for spots.
