The Toronto Blue Jays have a second game today against the New York Yankees and news just broke that Leo Jimenez who was in the lineup has been removed.

The Blue Jays have been dealing with a quite a few issues this off-season as two pitchers went down within the first couple days at Spring Training followed by Anthony Santander dealing with Visa issues and a few other problems.

Blue Jays announce Leo Jimenez has been pulled from the lineup against the New York Yankees

The Blue Jays are set to take on the New York Yankees in Tampa Bay tonight for their second game of the day and Leo Jimenez who was originally in the lineup has been pulled.
According to MLB reporter Hazel Mae, the Blue Jays announced that Jimenez has been pulled from the lineup due to an undisclosed sickness and will be replaced at shortstop by prospect Arjun Nimmala.
If you're going to Tampa for tonight's #BlueJays game vs NYY.
Leo Jimenez is out of the starting lineup (under the weather), he'll be replaced by 2023 first round pick Arjun Nimmala at SS.
Hopefully this is nothing too serious for Jimenez who is currently battling for a final spot on the Blue Jays with other young players such as Davis Schneider, Will Wagner and Alan Roden.
Jimenez likely just got sick as he was fielding ground balls with shortstop Bo Bichette in Dunedin just a few days ago and also played in a couple games.
This race for the final spot on the Blue Jays is very tight as of right now and despite Jimenez and Schneider having the most time spent in the majors with the Blue Jays, Will Wagner and Alan Roden seem to be the top choices as of right now.
It will be interesting to see who the Blue Jays end up keeping to the start the 2025 season in a few weeks.
