Cincinnati Reds legend and MLB all-time hits leader Pete Rose might finally headed to the MLB Hall of Fame after American President Donald Trump has gotten involved to remove him off the ineligible list.

Back in 1989, then-commissioner Bart Giamatti put Rose on the MLB's ineligible list, permanently, and despite multiple efforts over the years for Rose to try and get reinstated, he is still banned from entering the Hall of Fame.

Pete Rose's family recently filed a petition on January 8th 2025 to have Rose taken off the ineligible list so that he could finally be inducted into the Hall of Fame and it looks like commissioner Rob Manfred is seriously considering it.

Trump recently stated that he wants to complete a full pardon of Pete Rose who he agreed should not be gambling but stated that he should be forgiven since it was never against his own team.
"Over the next few weeks I will be signing a complete pardon of Pete Rose, who shouldn't have been gambling on baseball, but only bet on his team winning," Trump posted on social media. "He never betted against himself, or the other team. He had the most hits, by far, in baseball history, and won more games than anyone in history." -Trump

The Rose family lawyer, Jeffrey Leknov stated that the family never sought after getting the President to help them in reinstating Rose but they believe that his efforts will help them this time around.
"When he gets passionate about an issue, POTUS stands behind it," Lenkov said of Trump. "He was passionate about Pete. Pete would have appreciated the president's commitment to him." -Leknov

If Rose is finally reinstated, he will finally be illegible to enter the MLB Hall of Fame which many believe he deserves to be since he is the MLB all-time hits leader.
