The Toronto Blue Jays just announced their first signing of the off-season as they have decided to bring back relief pitcher Yimi Garcia.
The Blue Jays trade Garcia back at the 2024 trade deadline to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for outfielder Jonatan Clase and catcher Jacob Sharp since Garcia was on an expiring deal.
The Blue Jays have sign Yimi Garcia to a three year deal
MLB reporter Ari Alexander broke the news that the Blue Jays made their first major league signing of the off-season by bringing back relief pitcher Yimi Garcia on a two year deal worth $15 million.

Yimi Garcia to sign a 2-year, $15M deal with the Blue Jays, per @AriA1exander .
Garcia put together a solid season in 2024 with his time split between Seattle and Toronto in which he finished with a 3.46 ERA in 39 innings pitched with 49 strikeouts and 5 saves.
This move will be good for the Blue Jays bullpen which is currently extremely depleted after walking away from multiple relief pitcher at the beginning of the off-season including their closer Jordan Romano.
Paying Garcia an average of $7.5 million per season over the next two years for a reliable relief pitcher who knows the Blue Jays system seems like a great deal and even better place to start their free agent signings.
WELCOME HOME YIMI GARCIA!
Great signing
Hopefully this is the beginning of many solid signings by Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins this off-season.
