The Toronto Blue Jays were ranked 24th in the league in terms of farm system this season but they have quite a few high end prospects despite this ranking.
All Blue Jays fans are aware of the disappointing year Orelvis
Martinez and Ricky Tidemann had after both end up missing the majority of this past season. Tiedemann who is ranked the Blue Jays top prospect had to have Tommy John surgery while Martinez received an 80 game suspension for PEDs.
Injuries decimated the Blue Jays' top-end pitching prospects and limited former No. 1 prospect Ricky Tiedemann to just a handful of outings before he underwent Tommy John surgery. On the position player front, Orelvis Martinez (No. 2) could have had an incredible opportunity down the stretch, but he lost the second half of his season to an 80-game PED suspension. -Matheson
The Blue Jays had a few prospects that surpassed expectations this season
Must read on Blue Jays Insider
Jake Bloss is another top prospect that they Blue Jays acquired at the trade deadline from the Houston Astros who is currently their #3 prospect and will surely some time in the majors depending on how he does in 2025.
Bloss is exactly what the Blue Jays need to provide legitimate starting depth in 2025. Especially when you consider the injuries the Blue Jays ran into in 2024, the addition of Bloss was massive. -Matheson
Outfielder Alan Roden is another player that had an incredible 2024 season in Double-A and seems to be climbing the minor league system quite rapidly which is why fans might be seeing him Toronto sooner than expected.
Will Wagner almost feels as though he is no longer a prospect after the way he played at the end of 2024 when he got called up and while there are still aspects to his game that need to be worked on, he definitely has a bright future.
This is already well underway, but if Nimmala carries his momentum over into 2025, he'll start appearing on Top 100 lists. -Matheson
Clearly the Blue Jays do not have the best farm system but it seems that they still have quite a few very good prospects that have a true chance at becoming major leaguers.
