The Pirates place pitchers Jared Jones and Mitch Keller on the trading block and the Blue Jays could be interested
According to MLB reporter Noah Hiles and Andrew Destin, the Pirates are looking to trade pitcher Jared Jones and Mitch Keller this off-season as they look to re-tool for the 2025 season.
The Pirates are «open to the idea» of trading Mitch Keller and Jared Jones is reportedly «very available,» per @_NoahHiles and @AndrewDestin1 of @PittsburghPG
This could be very interesting for the Blue Jays who are currently in the market for a starting pitcher and despite Corbin Burnes being their number one target, one of these two pitchers could be a solid back up option.
Jones seems to be the most interesting out of the two pitchers as he is only 23 years old and put up solid numbers for his first year in the majors with a 4.14 ERA, 6-8 record and 132 strikeouts in 121.2 innings pitched.
Keller on the other hand would be a solid end of the rotation pitcher as he has been consistently just above a 4.00 ERA over the last 3 seasons and had a 4.25 ERA last season with 166 strikeouts in 178 innings pitched.
Either pitcher would be good for the Blue Jays to bring in but if they can land Jones, a young pitcher with plenty of potential and already showing great promise, he would be great for the team's future.
