Former Toronto Blue Jays World Series Winner Dave Stewart has made headlines after it looks like he is leading a group in the purchase of the Chicago White Sox.
At the end of the 2024 season, the Minnesota Twins owner Joe Pohlad announced that they will be looking into selling their team after the Pohlad family has owner the Twins since 1984. Yesterday, Jerry Reinsdorf, the owner of the Chicago White Sox announced that he would be following in Pohlad's foot steps as he is looking to sell the team as well.
Former Toronto Blue Jays Dave Stewart is looking to purchase the White Sox
According to reports, former World Series champion Dave Stewart who won with the Blue Jays back in 1993 is leading a group that is looking into purchasing the White Sox from Reinsdorf.
However, the second biggest news of the day was that Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf is in discussion to sell the team. And who is in discussion to buy the the White Sox? A group led by former Toronto Blue Jays World Series champion pitcher Dave Stewart. -Farkas
Stewart is mostly remembered for his time with the Oakland Athletics but did spend two years with the Blue Jays in 1993 and 1994 in which he won his third World Series ring.
The former Blue Jays pitchers has also been rumored to be part of a group looking to bring a team to Nashville but there has been no updates on if he plans to move the White Sox to Tennessee if he ends up going through with the purchase.
He's also been spear-heading a group that wants to bring a team to Nashville, Tenn. someday. There's no word on if he'd actually try to move the White Sox to Tennessee to fill that void.- Farkas
