Brandon Belt turned his career around last season with the Toronto Blue Jays, however, after the team decided not to re-sign him, he has been struggling to find another home in Major League Baseball.
While being interviewed on the JD Bunkis Podcast, Brandon Belt explained that his post-Blue Jays career has been tough, with barely anyone showing interest. In fact, he has called the experience "baffling" as he believes he has done enough to get onto a Major League Baseball roster.
"Honestly haven't had hardly any calls at all that have gone past the point of teams saying, Hey, we're interested. That's it, we're just checking in.' We haven't even gotten down to talking about money with anybody or anything like that."
Prior to his season with the Toronto Blue Jays, the 35-year-old had spent his entire career with the San Francisco Giants. In 2022, he had an abysmal season that saw him notch just eight home runs. His batting average was .213 that season, which was the lowest of his career. The following season with the Blue Jays, Brandon Belt came back with 19 home runs and a .254 batting average, according to Baseball Reference.

As Belt went on to say, he just wants to get his respect. He has proven himself over his career, and considering some of the other players in the Majors, Belt sees himself as someone deserving of a place. Only time will tell whether or not other teams agree.
"I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything. It's just that I feel like I have proven myself, especially over the past few years, that I don't think I'm in that spot right now. There was no reason for me to accept anything like that, and that's not something I wanted to do."
