The Toronto Blue Jays are set to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates this afternoon but unfortunately won't see former player Spencer Horwitz out there since he is still recovering from an injury.

The Blue Jays sent Horwitz to the Cleveland Guardians earlier this off-season as part of the trade that brought Andres Gimenez to town but the Guardians did not waste any time as they sent him to the Pittsburgh Pirates right after.

unfortunate news for former Blue Jays player Spencer Horwitz

The Blue Jays are set to take on the Pirates for their final game of Spring Training this afternoon at 1:07 PM as they have already clinched first place in the Grapefruit League.
Horwitz has been out with a right wrist injury since February 12th just before the start of camp and while he was listed as 6-8 weeks, it looks like the Pirates are still unsure if he will be ready in 8 weeks.
Horwitz is currently out dealing with a right wrist injury and his timeline was six to eight weeks from Feb. 12, but the Pirates haven't confirmed when he'll return.-Campbell

The Blue Jays announced that veteran pitcher Chris Bassitt will have the mound for the final game of the Spring with Bo Bichette hitting leadoff followed by Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Anthony Santander.
Last one before the real thing begins!
Despite Horwitz not being in the lineup, the Blue Jays will get to face their former teammate Isiah Kiner-Falefa who was traded to the Pirates last year at the trade deadline.

Should be a solid game before the Blue Jays kick things off on March 27th for Opening Day against the Baltimore Orioles.
