The New York Yankees have signed former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Ryan Yarbrough to a major league deal.
The Blue Jays announced yesterday that they decided to release Yarbrough to free agency instead of adding him to their 26 man roster which they had to do by 2PM yesterday.

Former Blue Jays pitcher Ryan Yarbrough was not a free agent for too long as less than 24 hours later he has agreed to a major league deal with the New York Yankees.

According to reports, Yarbrough will be getting the same deal that he had in Toronto which will pay him $2 million this season but it also includes some incentives which total about $500,000.
Good for Ryan Yarbrough, who gets the same $2m base he would have had with the Blue Jays plus incentives, from a division rival.
It's a one-year deal for $2 million with $500,000 in incentives for Yarbrough, per source.
This might end up looking like a terrible move by the Blue Jays if Yarbrough ends up having another solid season which most expect him to have.
It was quite the surprise for fans to see Toronto did not want to bring him back since he was so solid for them last season and they currently have multiple pitchers out with Ryan Burr, Erik Swanson and Zach Pop all on IL to start the season.
