Toronto Blue Jays newest pitcher Nick Sandlin who was acquired from the Cleveland Guardians speaks to the media for the first time about the trade.

The Blue Jays acquired pitcher Nick Sandlin and Andres Gimenez from the Guardians in exchange for Spencer Horwitz and Nick Mitchell as one of the biggest trades of the off-season.

Blue Jays newest pitcher Nick Sandlin speaks to the media about the trade

Sandlin went on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM this morning to speaks on his game over the last few seasons as well as being traded by the Guardians to the Blue Jays earlier this week.
The Blue Jays newest pitcher spoke of adding the splitter to his pitch mix last season as he used it before but got comfortable with it last season and he also spoke of being excited to get to Toronto as he knows it will be a change of pace but it excited for it.
"I can throw [the splitter] vs. lefties and righties, in any count."

New #BlueJays reliever Nick Sandlin was in the 95th percentile in whiff rate last season. Now he brings his nasty swing-and-miss stuff to Toronto.
Sandlin should be a solid addition to the Blue Jays bullpen this season as he has put up very consistent numbers in the past few years with a 3.75 ERA in 2023 and 2024 which shows exactly how consistent he is.
If the Blue Jays can get exactly those type of numbers out of him next season, this will surely help their bullpen quite a bit as last season they had multiple pitchers with an ERA over 5.00 in their bullpen.
While Sandlin seems like he will be a great addition, the Blue Jays still need to find a main closer after getting rid of Jordan Romano.
Chad Green could be a solid option but the free agent market still has some great relief pitcher options that the Blue Jays can look at as well.
