The Toronto Blue Jays are still searching for an outfielder that can hit this off-season and it looks like they have interest in former San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar after this have slowed down with Anthony Santander.

The Blue Jays were said to be closing a deal with Santander after making him a $82 million offer but it has been more than a week since the offer and there has been no update as it looks like things have cooled down.

After adding Jeff Hoffman last week, the Blue Jays main focus now is landing a solid starting pitcher and adding a good hitter to their lineup to help improve their offense for next season.
According to reports, they are looking into possibly signing free agent Jurickson Profar who is still available as MLB reporter Jake Storiale believes they will make him an offer if they miss out on Santander.
On Monday's episode of Talkin' Baseball, host Jake Storiale linked the Blue Jays as a strong fit for Profar if they don't wind up signing Santander. -Roberts

"The Blue Jays have been listed for a lot of these (players), because again, they're trying to show out to Vladdy in what could potentially be his final year," Storiale said. "I think a switch-hitting corner outfielder (makes sense)." -Storiale

Profar is coming off a great year in San Diego, especially offensively where he hit 24 homeruns and 85 RBIs with a .280 batting average and .380 on base percentage in 2024.
Clearly the Blue Jays main goal is to find a way to get a deal done with Santander who would instantly improve their offense but if that is not possible, Profar could be a great backup option.
Whether it is Santander, Profar or even Taylor Ward, the Blue Jays need to find a way to land a solid hitter to help out Vladimir Guerrero Jr next season if they plan on winning more games.
