The Toronto Blue Jays might have missed out on another free agent last night in Pete Alonso but it looks like they are still not done and have interest in former San Francisco Giants outfielder Mark Canha.

The story of the off-season has been regarding the Blue Jays taking big swing at free agents superstar and completely missing, the latest being Alonso who re-signed with the New York Mets last night.

The Bleu Jays could be interested in signing outfielder Mark Cahan before Spring Training

The Blue Jays still have some question marks in their outfield since Daulton Varsho is still recovering from an injury and they are looking to make Anthony Santander their designated hitter which leaves room to add at least one outfielder.
The Blue Jays apparently could be interested in Canha who would be a nice fit for the Blue Jays but the team needs to see what they will do with Davis Schneider first before making a move on Canha.
Canha's fit with the Blue Jays depends on where the team is at with Davis Schneider, as he would play the role the 26-year-old currently inhabits as a corner outfielder and DH against left-handed starters.-Ashbourne

Canha definitely could be a great option for the Blue Jays since he is a solid defender and can string together solid at bats even if he is not a power hitter by any means.
Canha may not wield an impact bat at this stage of his career, but he's posted an above-average wRC+ and at least 1.0 fWAR in every season since 2019. The veteran outfielder is a steady pair of hands who has been particularly proficient against southpaws recently, producing a rock-solid 125 wRC+ against them over the past two seasons. -Ashbourne

When comparing Schneider and Canha, Canha is definitely much older which could come with some injury issues but does have more experience and a higher ceiling than Schneider but at the same time Schneider has shown that he has a lot of potential.

While the Blue Jays do not need an outfielder, it would not be a bad idea to bring in some more experience since their current options in the outfield to replace Varsho are all quite young.
