During the latest episode of the fan 590, radio hosts Jeff Blair and Kevin Barker linked the Toronto Blue Jays to veteran free agent starter Jose Quintana as a possible option for general manager Ross Atkins as the Blue Jays continued to search for starting pitching help.

Both hosts agreed that if Cortana or free agent Max Scherzer were wanting or available to come to the Blue Jays that the team should consider signing one or both.

Quintana would be a welcome addition to the Blue Jays

«If a Max Scherzer or Jose Quintana falls into my lap, I'm fine [with that], but I'm still invested in getting another hitter in here»

Adding another veteran pitcher would be very beneficial for the Blue Jays even though the team is working hard to trying to sign another bat which includes free agent Pete Alonso.
Never forget what Jose Quintana did during the last WC game. If it's not for him we don't get to witness what Alonso did.

Quintana is four years younger than Scherzer and would likely give the Blue Jays more cost certainty even though Scherzer would have great leadership experience.
Good Morning Blue Jays fans! I am hearing that SP Jose Quintana is nearing a deal to become a Toronto Blue Jay!

Last season, Quintana sported a 10-10 record with a 3.75 ERA along with 135 strikeouts and a 1.250 WHIP. According to Spotrac, he has a projected market value of $16,572,404 on a two-year deal. Quintana is a suitable and well-grounded option for the Blue Jays, who have the potential to amplify their rotation with a middle starter. The left-hander has shown durability for most of his 13-year career and would fit well in the third or fourth spot in the rotation. Vanessa Serrao LWOS

Blue Jays diligent in landing another bat to their offense

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins announced that the Blue Jays are working continuously to try to improve the team's offence and has decided to make Pete Alonso their top priority as they have offered more money to try to attract him to the organization.
If they were successful to land Alonso along with signing Anthony Santander last week it would certainly augment the Blue Jays offence and give the team more options especially if Vladimir Guerrero Jr is unable to be signed.
The team is working to try to sign him long term even though they have locked him in for another year but it remains to be seen on how all of this will play out as rumors have been flying around the organization and Major League Baseball that he may want too much money that the Jays are not willing to pay.
It's going to be a fascinating time between now an opening day.
