Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Yariel Rodriguez has been off to a pretty horrendous start so far in camp which might end up costing him his job.
The Blue Jays stated prior to camp that despite rumors of Rodriguez going straight to the bullpen, he would be starting camp as a starting pitcher and that he would have a chance to compete for a starting position.
Blue Jays pitcher Yariel Rodriguez at risk of losing his job with Toronto
Rodriguez had a solid game Friday against the Yankees even though he gave up a couple solo homeruns, he did much better than the way he had been playing recently.
Rodríguez struck out a pair of former MVPs in Friday night's 8-7 loss to the Yankees at George M. Steinbrenner Field. And while he did give up a pair of solo homers to Cody Bellinger and Austin Wells, Rodríguez didn't walk anybody and threw 37 of 52 pitches for strikes to come up shining when it came to his main objective for the game. -Kornacki
Even though Rodriguez had his best game yet Friday, he is still having a tough camp as his ERA now sits at 12.00 after Friday's game which is far from ideal, especially in 6 innings pitched which fans has been pointing out online.

Some fans have even stated that they believe that he will have a tough season once again this year and that the team will look to move him before the end of the season since he still has 3 more years on his contract after 2025.
I know it's only Spring Training but I'll predict right now that Yariel Rodriguez will not be with the #Bluejays by the end of the year, maybe even the trade deadline.
