Toronto Blue Jays informed reporters this morning that former NL MVP Joey Votto will be making his Spring Training debut for the Blue Jays on Sunday against the Phillies.
Joey Votto will debut in uniform of his hometown
@BlueJays vs the #Phillies on Sunday afternoon in Clearwater. The 40-year-old Votto was born and raised in Toronto, drafted by Cincy in the 2002 second round. Spent first 17 big-league seasons 2007-23 with @reds.
Although it is definitely an up hill battle for Votto as to having a chance at playing in the Major League again, there is no denying that he is a great baseball player and he might be able to surprise some people regardless of his age.
