The last few weeks have seen a ton of former Blue Jays agree to new deals but the Blue Jays have remained quite on the free agent from apart from signing pitcher Max Scherzer.
The White Sox have signed former Blue Jays third baseman Brandon Drury
The White Sox announced yesterday that they have agreed to a minor league deal with former Blue Jays third baseman Brandon Drury which includes a Spring Training invitation.
The Chicago White Sox sign INF Brandon Drury to a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training. Thank you Brandon for your contributions to the Angels and wish you the best in Chicago!
The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with INFs Brandon Drury and Tristan Gray on minor-league contracts which include non-roster invites to Spring Training.
Despite having a rough season in Los Angeles last year where Drury finished with 4 homeruns and 15 RBIs, he was a silver slugger in 2023 and had back to back 20+ homerun season.
Drury played for the Blue Jays for three years when he was acquired in a trade from the New York Yankees and have a few solid seasons before deciding to sign with the New York Mets in free agency in 2021.
This is a solid deal for the White Sox as it is a low risk and high reward move since Drury has proven he can be a solid hitter in the MLB and if he is unable to return to that caliber, they are not wasting much money.
It will be interesting to see if he ends up cracking the White Sox roster.
