The Toronto Blue Jays season is officially over and they are now headed into off-season mode as they look to improve their roster through free agency.

The Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins mentioned in his press conference yesterday that Toronto will be looking into bringing is a strong bat this off-season which seems to be a former rival.
Anthony Santander is coming off a career year with the Orioles as he enters free agency which means he is in line for a massive pay day but clearly his number from this season are exactly what the Blue Jays offense need.
With the 2024 season officially wrapped up for the Toronto Blue Jays, the focus now shifts to the offseason. Given how much this team underperformed, change is inevitable, and one of the easiest avenues for change is in free agency. One free agent who's been a popular name among Jays fans is Orioles right fielder Anthony Santander, who's coming off a career year, hitting 44 home runs, the third most in MLB. While on paper he may seem like a great fit for a Blue Jays squad in desperate need of some pop, insider Ben Nicholson-Smith doesn't seem to agree. -Wright

44 HRs, 100 RBI for Santander - this man is about to get paid this off-season, be it by the Orioles or someone elsemaybe the Blue Jays?
Bringing in a hot bat like Santander's will take a lot of pressure off of Guerrero as he is currently the only dominant hitter on the Blue Jays which is why it would be a great addition for next season.
Despite this big time free agent hitting the market, insider Ben Nicholson-Smith believes the Blue Jays should stay away since he believes this will end up being the best season of his career and whoever signs him will be disappointed in a few years.
On a recent episode of the At The Letters podcast, Nicholson-Smith warned against going all in on the soon-to-be 30-year-old switch hitter, having this to say about him: "Let's be honest, this was his career season. He's not a 40-home run bat. Kudos to him for timing it perfectly, but I would be wary about paying someone who's best season will be behind him".
