The Toronto Blue Jays will have a ton of big decisions to take over the course over the next month as they have 10 players eligible for arbitration.
Free agency is set to kick in 5 days after the end of the World Series, the free agency market will open up will the non tender deadline for players eligible for arbitration is on November 22nd.
The Blue Jays will have to decide by November 22nd which players they plan on extending a contract to for the 2025 season in which includes many players such as Vladimir Guerrero, Erik Swanson, Jordan Romano, Genesis Cabrera, Dillion Tate, Daulton Varsho, Alejandro Kirk, Alek Manoah, Zach Pop and Ernie Clement.
The Blue Jays have 10 arbitration-eligible players this offseason. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leads the way with an estimated $29.6M coming his way through arbitration. The rest of the arbitration-eligible group includes:
Erik Swanson ($3.2M) Jordan Romano ($7.75M) Génesis Cabrera ($2.5M) Dillon Tate ($1.9M) Daulton Varsho ($7.7M) Alejandro Kirk ($4.1M) Alek Manoah ($2.4M) Zach Pop ($1M) Ernie Clement ($1.7M) -Fisher
Clearly players such as Vladimir Guerrero, Alek Manoah and Alejandro Kirk will be returning next season unless the Blue Jays decide to shock the baseball world by not protecting them.
On the other hand, there is quite a few players that have an uncertain future that are arbitration eligible such as Jordan Romano, Daulton Varsho and Genesis Cabrera. The one player that will surely not be returning next season is Zach Pop since after this season, his time in the Majors is likely done.
Hopefully Ross Atkins will know which players he plans on keeping in 2025 prior to the November 22nd deadline as it would help the Blue Jays have a better idea of what they need once free agency opens.
