The Toronto Blue Jays have a ton of plans heading into the off-season but one of the top priorities seems to be acquiring a pitcher which New York Mets Jose Quintana might be a possibility.

The Mets seem to be moving on from the 35 year old pitcher as his two year $26 million contract that he signed in 2022 is set to expire as he will be a free agent this winter once the market opens.
Despite not being an all-star since 2016, Quintana had a solid season with the Mets putting up a 3.71 ERA over 31 starts this season helping a Mets team beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS as they head to the National League Finals.
If the Blue Jays are able to sign Quintana for a smaller amount that his previous contract, this might end up being a massive steal during free agency that could help them in having room on their payroll to go and sign bigger names.
"The lefty seemed cooked as an effective starter in the late 2010s and early 2020s, but not anymore," Rymer said. "A 3.39 ERA over 76 starts in three seasons is good for the soul, not to mention the reputation. Quintana has always been a fastball-curveball-changeup guy, but he's put a twist on the formula over the last two seasons. His sinker is now his go-to heater, and why not? Only Chris Bassitt has gotten more value out of his sinker across 2023 and 2024. -McAvoy

Quintana could be a solid 3 or 4th pitcher for the Blue Jays next season as he seems to be consistent which was a problem in Toronto last season and not only with their pitchers as their offense struggled with it as well.
