The Toronto Blue Jays announced some pretty big news yesterday as they fired hitting coach Guillermo Martinez.
The Blue Jays have struggled at the plate this season as eveen some of their most consistent hitters such as Bo
Bichette and George Springer had one of their worst seasons at the plate.
As the Blue Jays try and shake things up for next season, they have decide to part ways with their hitting coach Guillermo Martinez after 6 seasons with the club, in which this year the team finished 23rd in the entire league for runs scored.
In a clear shot across the bow ahead of a joint press conference with team President Mark Shapiro and general manager Ross Atkins on Wednesday morning, Scott Mitchell of TSN and others are citing industry sources saying that the Toronto Blue Jays have fired hitting coach Guillermo Martinez. -Kime.

Per sources, Guillermo Martinez is out as #BlueJays hitting coach after 6 seasons.
The club finished 23rd in baseball in runs scored this year.
While changes are definitely needed within the organization, firing Guillermo does not necessarily seem like the answer, the Blue Jays did have a terrible year at the plate but at the same time Guillermo was the hitting coach when the Jays finished 3rd in runs scored in 2021 to go along with 262 homeruns.
That means he was here when the Blue Jays led MLB with 262 home runs and had the 3rd most runs scored in 2021 behind two MVP finalists and Silver Sluggers, Marcus Semien and Guerrero Jr., as well as repeat Silver Slugger winner Teoscar Hernández. Alejandro Kirk would go on to win a Silver Slugger award at catcher in 2022. -Kime
While this was not necessarily a bad move, fans expect a much bigger move from the organization in terms of the coaching staff and management after another disappointing year.
