Buster Posey is back! Hired as Giants president of baseball operations

Buster Posey is back in the MLB as his former team the San Francisco Giants have hired him as their new President of Baseball Operations.

It is not news that the Giants have struggled that past 6 seasons as they ultimately have decided to part ways with their current president of baseball operations in order to hire the legend and future Hall-of-Famer catcher Buster Posey.
San Francisco finished fourth in the National League West with an 80-82 record in 2024 and went 453-417 overall in the Zaidi era (2019-2024).
«We have made the decision to part ways with Farhan Zaidi,» Giants chairman Greg Johnson said in a statement on Monday. «We appreciate Farhan's commitment to the organization and his passion for making an impact in our community during his six years with the Giants. Ultimately, the results have not been what we had hoped, and while that responsibility is shared by all of us, we have decided that a change is necessary. While these decisions are not easy, we believe it is time for new leadership to elevate our team so we can consistently contend for championships. I wish Farhan and his family nothing but the best moving forward.»
Posey played 1371 games over his 13 year MLB career, all with the San Francisco Giants. He collected 1500 hits, 158 home runs and a career WAR of 44.8. Supporting his fantastic numbers, he hit a career slash line of .302/.372/.460 and an OPS of .831. To add to this hall-of-fame career, he is a 7-time All-Star, Rookie of the year and 1 x NL MVP and won the World Series 3 times.
