The Toronto Blue Jays has yet to sign superstar Vladimir Guerrero to an extension and it looks like trade talks are heating up which could send him to the New York Yankees this off-season.
The Blue Jays do not seem to stressed about signing Vladimir Guerrero to an extension after the way general manager Ross Atkins was talking at the end of the year press conference.
Trade talks between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays regarding Vladimir Guerrero are heating up
Since the Blue Jays have yet to announce a contract extension for Vladimir Guerrero it looks like there have been some trade talks heating up with the Yankees since he is entering the last year of his contract in 2025.
While fans would hate to see Guerrero leave, if the Blue Jays end up not bringing him back for 2026 and end up with nothing in exchange, it will definitely be an even bigger mistake.
"But with one season of arbitration eligibility remaining before he becomes a free agent, perhaps Guerrero can do what Aaron Judge did in 2022 and what Juan Soto did this year by putting together one heck of a walk year with the Bronx Bombers before signing the biggest contract of the winter," wrote Miller.
There has been a trade floating around that would send Guerrero to the Yankees in exchange for outfielder Spencer Jones, pitcher Brock Selvidge and pitcher Clayton Beeter.

This means the Blue Jays would be getting two of the Yankees top 10 prospects with Jones being ranked #2 and Slevidge #7 while Beeter just finished his an incredible year in Triple with a 2.25 ERA and played 3 games in the majors with a 4.91 ERA.
Fans do not want to see Guerrero go but they might have to come to terms with this idea if Atkins does not get a deal done soon.
