Shohei Ohtani's agent speaks on what happened last year with the Toronto Blue Jays during negotiations

Blue Jays fans have no faith in the team locking down Juan Soto this off-season because of how poorly things went last winter when the team was trying to sign Shohei Ohtani.

Last off-season, Blue Jay fans were extremely hopefully for the 2024 season because of all the rumors that the team had a chance in signing Shohei Ohtani but that ended quickly when he ended up with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ohtani's agent, Nez Baleo, recently spoke on what took place last year when reports came out that Ohtani was on a plane to Toronto to finalize the contract stating that these were all lies by the made up by the media.

Baleo stated that he felt bad for the fanbase and think that the behaviour from all these reporters was reckless since they gave the fans so much hope that Ohtani was actually going to sign in Toronto.

The good to come from this is that fans can finally have some closure on the Ohtani situation fully knowing that he was never on a plane headed to Toronto and that even if they were part of the discussion at point, they never had a real chance.

When looking at this off-season and the Soto situation, it seems a bit different since Soto's agent has confirmed that the Blue Jays are actually in the running's to land him.

Hopefully Blue Jays fans will get to see Soto sign in Toronto which would fully heal them from the trauma they suffered when Ohtani signed in Los Angeles.
