The MLB put a list together for the top prospects to watch this winter and unfortunately they only named Orelvis Martinez in terms of Blue Jays prospects.
The World Series begin tonight and all other leagues are over, fans might feel like baseball is done but there are all kinds of winter leagues just starting to begin that will be there to keep fans warm during this dark period.
Orlevis Martinez is the only Blue Jays prospect named to the MLB's list of top player's to watch at winter ball
Martinez is coming off of a tough season, he started off the year dominating Triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons but when he finally got the call to the big leagues he lasted two games then received a suspension. Martinez was suspended for 80 games for use of PEDs which he claimed was from a drug he was taking to help with fertility problems.
The Blue Jays' power-hitting infield prospect made his MLB debut for Toronto in June, but appeared in only one game before serving an 80-game suspension for testing positive for the banned substance Clomiphene. This is his second winter suiting up in the LIDOM after playing 10 games for Licey in 2023-24. - Trezza
While the Blue Jays are known for their not so great farm system, listing Martinez as the only player to watch this winter for the Blue Jays feels like another jab at their system that still has some solid players.
