Eight years ago on this very day, the Toronto Blue Jays were taking on the Texas Rangers in the ALDS in which Toronto would go on to sweep the Rangers.

On this day eight years ago, former beloved play Josh Donaldson was drove in by Russell Martin just beating the pitch as he slid for home and the Blue Jays swept the Rangers.
The Rangers messed up an easy throw to first to get Martin out which game Donaldson the opportunity to hhead for home which he just slid in time and the rest is history.
The date is October 10, 2016. «The Donaldson Dash.» becomes one of the best «non home run» memories in Blue Jays history.

Thanks for the memories! I really wish this wasn't how it was ending. #BlueJays
This series had the Blue Jays players at the top of their game with Troy Tulowitzki, Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion and Marco Esstrada all of the top of their game which is why the Blue Jays won the series.
Carrera hit .333/.429/.583 and scored 4 runs.
Donaldson hit .538/.471/.846, with 4 doubles and 4 runs. He played some excellent defense. And he had that game-winning dash.
Encarnacion hit .417/.500/.917 with 2 home runs, 4 runs and 4 RBI.
Tulowitzki hit .462/.462/.846 with a triple, a home run, and 5 RBI.
Marco Estrada pitched 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball in his start. He was terrific in the playoffs for us.
Osuna pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless ball, allowing just 1 hit with 4 strikeouts. -Dakers

This was probably the best the Blue Jays had been since their back to back World Series in the 90's and these teams in the mid 2010's helped grow baseball in Toronto to the level it is at today.
