Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has been surrounded by trade talks all year long and according to reports the Pittsburgh Pirates are very interested.

The Pirates did not make the playoffs this year but have some solid young talent and are in desperate need of a solid shortstop which is why Bichette would be a perfect match for them.
At 26 years old, Bichette would be a perfect fit for Pittsburgh both now and in the future. His bat was not great in 2024, but he's more than capable of being a high impact player at the plate. Defensively, he's a very good shortstop. -Massey

Clearly the Blue Jays have been battling with the thought of moving on from Bichette since the team does not see him being part of their championship team and if the Pirates could make the right offer, there is a good chance Bichette could be headed to Pittsburgh.
Bichette has been involved in a ton of MLB trade rumors over the past couple of years. So far, the Blue Jays have opted to hold onto him. With his contract ending after the 2025 campaign and no extension agreement in sight, Toronto could opt to move on from him.

While the 26 year old's trade stock has gone down, the Blue Jays should be able to get a solid return for the young shortstop regardless of his struggles on and off the field this season.
It will be interesting to see what Atkins decides to do this off-season with Bichette since his job in Toronto is far from a lock.
