Jose Berrios got his third start of the season on Monday night in the Toronto Blue Jays' home opener against the Seattle Mariners, and he ended up leading them to a massive 5-2 victory.

According to the Blue Jays, Berrios completed a massive milestone during the game. He struckout the 1200th batter of his career. This is not something every pitcher can say for themself. Meanwhile, it came in a match where Berrios had a shut out in just under seven innings of action. He only gave up four hits and one walk during this time. Furthermore, he was able to strike out a total of six batters.

The Blue Jays got help from everyone last night. Players like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Davis Schneider were at the top of their game, notching hits and supporting Berrios throughout his run. It was a phenomenal performance in front of the Toronto crowd. It was also an important one given the fact that the Blue Jays had lost two straight games to the New York Yankees. Now, they are back in the win column and have improved their record to 5-6.
Tonight, the Blue Jays will have yet another chance at the Seattle Mariners. The game is going to be played at 7 PM Eastern Standard Time. If you want to watch the game and you live in Canada, the game will be broadcast live on Sportsnet.
