The 2025 pre-season farm system rankings were released by MLB pipeline and the Toronto Blue Jays were disrespected as they received a shockingly low rating where they were ranked 27th in the league.
This drop from 24th from last year's rankings seems a little low considering who the Blue Jays have in their system. The top 100 named Arjun Nimmala and Trey Yesavage As their highest-ranking players within that measurement.
Blue Jays have better farm system then being portrayed
Despite the low ranking, the Blue Jays have several players that are Considered higher ranking even though they've been pegged as fringe players.
Although Nimmala and Yesavage are the two prospects in the top 100, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedamann, Alan Roden, Jake Bloss, and Josh Kasevich could also be considered «fringe» top 100 players. They also have MLB-ready prospects, such as Martinez and Will Wagner. Ryley Delaney
Orevlis Martinez, and Alan Roden are players who will challenge for a roster spot as the Blue Jays continue to evaluate their talent through spring training.
Ricky Tiedemann Despite having a set back with his Tommy John surgery and is
continuing to recover, he will certainly be challenging for a spot next spring Who will give the Jays more flexibility and another arm to look at.
Yesterday, Alan Roden did it with the bat. Today, he's doing it with the glove
There is also the possibility Will Wagner making some noise with the Blue Jays this year.
Blue Jays could still boost their farm on a bad circumstance
The Blue Jays farm system could receive a boost due to terrible circumstances that could face the team when the July trade deadline arrives.
If the Blue Jays have a poor season by that point, it's likely general manager Ross Atkins will attempt to make a trade to move Vladimir Guerrero Jr and potentially Bo Bichette if neither are signed to a new contract.
That would give the Blue Jays a chance to acquire some more talented players who would help fill up their farm system and give them a better rating next year.
Granted, everyone would like to have a great season but that is a reality facing the Blue Jays that can't be ignored.
