The Blue Jays shortstop prospect Josh Kasevich is headed to IL
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told the media yesterday that during the game against the Atlanta Braves last weekend, Kasevich re-aggravated a preexisting back injury and that he will now be out for multiple weeks.
Blue Jays shortstop prospect Josh Kasevich has a stress reaction in his lower back. He aggravated the preexisting injury during a game last weekend vs Atlanta, per Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

Kasevich split last season between Double-A in New Hampshire and Triple-A in Buffalo which he put up solid numbers and was looking to build off of that this season but it looks like he will be delayed for a few weeks.
While this injury does not affect the Blue Jays current roster as Kasevich did not have a realistic chance of making the team this season, this is still unfortunate as he is one of the Blue Jays better prospects.
This is once again another one of the Blue Jays top prospects along with Ricky Tiedemann and Adam Macko that has gone down with an injury which is not helping their 27th ranked farm team.
Hopefully the Blue Jays do not have any more serious injuries throughout the rest of Spring Training before the start of the season because the last thing they need is another starter to go down.
