The Boston Red Sox decided to not make Canadian outfielder Tyler O'Neill a qualifying offer as he enters free agency and is one of the Toronto Blue Jays top targets.

The Blue Jays are looking to bring in a big time hitter this off-season and also would benefit from signing an outfielder which is why signing O'Neill would make a ton of sense for the team.

Red Sox do not extend qualifying offer to Tyler O'Neill as the Blue Jays have a real chance at signing him

This afternoon the MLB announced all the players that received qualifying offers from their teams in which the Red Sox offered pitcher Nick Pivetta an offer but decide not to offer O'Neill one.
On Monday, they extended the $21.05 million qualifying offer to right-hander Nick Pivetta, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. They did not give one to outfielder Tyler O'Neill. -Leger

O'Neill will now fully test the free agent market and it looks like he would be a perfect fit in Toronto as they are looking to bring in a solid hitter and need help in the outfield which he could help in both areas.
Tyler O'Neill didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Red Sox? He's the most obvious Blue Jays signing this winter.
Last season, O'Neill hit 31 homeruns to go along with 61 RBIs, a .241 batting average and a .336 on base percentage which would definitely help the Blue Jays offense out in 2025.
If the Blue Jays could get O'Neill at a decent price, this move would make a ton of sense for the organization moving forward.
