The Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly set to make a massive offer for Juan Soto but New York Mets owner Steven Cohen has now said he refuses to be outbid in free agency for Soto.
Soto is by far the biggest free agent of the market this winter as a ton of teams will be making offers since he has mentioned that he will be listening to all offers and making a choice from there.
Mets owner Steven Cohen has mentioned he will not be outbid for Juan Soto
The Blue Jays are set to make a major offer for Soto which has been reported over the last few days but Mets owner Steve Cohen has also stated that he will refuse to be outbid and will go as far as he needs to in order to sign Soto.
At this point, it's HIGHLY LIKELY that Juan Soto is a NY Met on Opening Day 2025. Projections estimate that Soto's final contract will range from 12 to 14 years and $600 to $700 million. Again, Steve Cohen and Mets front office are committed to giving Soto whatever he wants.
Word around #MLB circles is that Steve Cohen is prepared to pay whatever it takes' and won't be outbid for Juan Soto.
The only scenario some see Soto not signing with the #Mets is if he opts to take less money elsewhere.
Soto has made it clear that he will be heading to wherever he is offered the most money and according to reports the Mets are willing to give him anything he wants in terms of his next contract.
While the Blue Jays also plan on making a massive offer, they might not be able to outbid the Mets.
