The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking to bring in a big time pitcher to boost up their rotation and seem to have their eyes on Yomiuri Giants pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano.

Sugano is coming off an incredible year with the Giants in the NPB where he posted a 1.67 ERA over 24 starts and is one of the most decorated pitcher in the NPB with two Sawaruma awards (best pitcher in the league), two time MVP and four time ERA champion.
Sugano, who turns 35 in a week, is in the midst of a renaissance season that has seen him post a 1.67 ERA over 24 starts for the Central League champion Yomiuri Giants. He is a two-time winner of the Sawamura Award -- the equivalent of the Cy Young -- two-time Central League MVP and four-time ERA champion, and his reemergence paved the way for him to finally reach MLB. -Passan

Sugano has come close to coming to the MLB in the past but it seems like he is officially all in and will be entering international free agency this winter.
News: Right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano will be signing with an MLB team as an international free agent this winter, sources tell ESPN. Details on his six-pitch mix, how he almost came to MLB before and his impending arrival, free and unlocked at ESPN:
The Blue Jays were among the finalist to sign Sugano back in 2020 with the Mets and Giants but a deal was never reached as Sugano decided to return to Tokyo to play for the Giants.
Blue Jays had serious interest in Sugano when he was first posted in 2020. Mets and Giants were the other finalists before Sugano ultimately went back to Japan.
